Dortmund in for Origi

Borussia Dortmund and have opened talks for a potential transfer of Divock Origi to Signal Iduna Park, according to  who quote their own sources.

Liverpool signed Origi from Lille on the back of some very encouraging displays for Belgium in the 2014 World Cup at the age of 19, but the deal included a loan back to the French side for the first year. Having arrived to Anfield in earnest in 2015, he competed for a spot in the team with the likes of Danny Ings and compatriot Christian Benteke, and he played a vital part in Liverpool s march to the Europa League final in 2016.

However, with manager Jürgen Klopp transforming Roberto Firmino into a striker and the arrivals of Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah, the bar has been significantly raised and Origi found himself in a very different situation. He spent last season on loan in Germany with Wolfsburg and returned to Liverpool this summer to try and earn his stripes again, but he hasn t really impressed as Daniel Sturridge proved the better option for Klopp.

The Reds demand €30million for the 23-year-old Belgian, but Dortmund are keen on an initial loan with an option to buy.
